Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop across the area today, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours. A few of these storms could become severe, with damaging wind gusts being the biggest threat. The greatest severe potential will be over northern Sumter County and eastern portions of Levy and Citrus counties.
